My Dress: Allure 8526

Picture

I actually wanted something more casual, originally. See, this will be "Wedding Number Two" for both of us and I've already had the big ol' puffball dress for my first wedding. And this time around, I was going for a more laid-back feel and look.  But once I saw this dress, I fell in love with it.

I shopped around (online) for about a month, but every time I thought I'd decided on a different dress, I managed to find my way back to look at this one again.  So I finally set my mind on getting this one.

But then there was the price...yikes!

I was firm in my decision to not spend more than $600 for a dress. I just could never justify spending that on a dress I'll only wear once and never again.

So I began scouting used wedding dress sites, until I found it!

You can get anything on ebay! :-)

I happened across my dress on ebay, and the price was very much within my budget. So I took a gamble and bid on it.

The dress was altered by the original bride, who added some beaded embellishments under the bust.

I emailed the seller and she was more than happy to answer my millions of questions. Two weeks later, I had my dress and I love it just as much as I thought I would!
(It helped that she and I have the same measurements)

Groom and Groomsmen

Very excited that I managed to find a place that rents brown/tan tuxes!!!

I love the look of my man in his tan suit. Our first date he took me out in a tan linen suit and I thought he looked amazing, so I requested he wear it on our wedding day. As our wedding party grew, and he realised that my dress was more formal than we planned (he hasn't seen it, but he knows it's got a longish train), he decided that a tux would be the best way to go.

So, I searched until I found a place that rents tan ones.

Jos. A. Bank rents these tuxes and others. I know a lot of people complain about Men's Warehouse, so this is an alternative. I think Jos. A. Bank is fairly new to renting tuxes since I haven't heard of them renting until just now...but I know that I just don't like the look of Men's Warehouse's tuxes.

Fiance wore a tux from MW recently for his sister's wedding and it just fit him horribly. It looked like a cheap suit and just I hated how he looked in it. Another reason I'm glad to avoid MW if I can.

Bridesmaids

As of right now, my bridesmaids are going to be wearing Davids Bridal dresses. I'm going to let them choose their own dresses, but to keep a unified look, I'm asking that the dress be long, satin and cornflower blue. Since my girls are all over the US and the UK, I thought this was the easiest way to do things.

This one of the dresses that seems to be the most popular with my ladies right now.
